Arch Lintels

When you decide to use an arched lintel instead of a regular straight lintel, the dimensional options become almost unlimited! So we need more information from you to order an arch...

 

We have grouped our arches by section - for the different types of wall, the same as for our other lintels, and within each wall type we have different duty constructions (sections), but the load capacities within these are the same for all wall dimensions within a given wall type.


Our loads are given as a guide only, and are generally the minimum that arch will carry, the maximum depends on the actual arch shape.

'AS' SECTION ARCHES

The neatest solution for supporting single thickness masonry arches.
These arches are simple and economic, and feature a stiffener along the top edge.

'AD' SECTION ARCHES

A tidy solution for forming arches in double thickness masonry walls, this form can also be used to provide subtle support to single thickness wall by using cut bricks/blocks.

'AO' SECTION ARCHES

Arches for applications with a cavity and outer. They provide an economic solution to supporting outer leaf arches for cavity walls where the inner is supported seperately.

'AOH' SECTION ARCHES

A much stiffer version of the AO section, these arches also close the cavity. They are usually specified for higher outer leaf loads, or simply to close the cavity using the lintel.

'ACI' SECTION ARCHES

Standard design, economic cavity wall arch lintels; the web of the arch (with top stiffener) is against the inner leaf, allowing for greater loads on the inner to be supported.

'ACO' SECTION ARCHES

A special version of the ACI arch above, it is designed for applications where the load on the outer leaf exceeds the load on the inner leaf.

'ACH' SECTION ARCHES

These are heavy duty cavity wall arch lintels, capable of supporting both high inner and high outer loads.
The hollow section makes them much stiffer, and so also ideal for loads that are unbalanced along the length of the lintel.

EXAMPLE OPTIONS FOR ARCHES

BOX INNER

BOX INNER option gives a straight lintel on the inside but an arch outside - ideal for sash windows.

 

FALSE ARCH.

use a FALSE ARCH to support the masonry in an arch outside but use a rectangular window with infill above.

 

FEATURE BRICK

FEATURE BRICK can also be applied to all types arches!

 

STEPPED
arch01

STEPPED outer or inner can be applied to cavity or double wall arches.

You can also specify whether or not you want plaster key, and where you want it - it is included as standard on the underside of all arches (but only on the inner in the case of cavity and double wall types).
